Week 1 - Introduction - Ecological Model

The purpose is to create a new construction which can be used to replace the original ecological system.
Firstly, I tried to finger out the relationships between this system and some invisible elements, for example, the airflow and the smell, which could be proved that they also play a potential role in this link.
During this process, I found that the ground has a similar function with the conveyer belt. More Precisely, they can not only transform the individuals but also the memory. Besides these elements, the signal is also transformed, but the difference is the medium. So I wonder if I can create a new construction to transform them in a different way.
When it came to the airflow, I was confusing because I could not find a exact way to describe the movement of the wind, as a result, I could not replace these kind of elements. What I can do at the moment is to make sure the relationships are clearly stated.
After that I did some research on the way that how these elements affect each other. However, due to the limited time, I have not done much.
To sum up , I think this system is a participant in the ecological system if it can replace the original system. Meanwhile, it is also a reader because it can calculate the relationships by itself.

The Workshop - Analogue

We worked as a group under the guidance of the lecturer Perry Kulper in Bartlett school during the first week.

The main purpose of our design is to make the invisible power, for instance, wind and sound appeared. Due to the special position of the site, we decided to choose saussurea involucrate as our theme. We found that the saussurea involucrate influences on the terminal situation just like the wind in the way of separating the stone. Secondly, the construction of the petals of saussurea involucrate is the same with the helix power of the wind.
